The Lonsdale Is An Inexpensive
Hotel Situated To The British Museum / Theatreland AndThe Lonsdale
has made a confident play for the aspiring locals of Notting Hill,
and seemingly pulled the trick off at first attempt. We visited
on a Friday when both bar and tables were thronged, and were amazed
to see that The Londsdale still ran like clockwork and delivered
a superb grazing menu. It's painfully trendy and fairly pricey,
but the food is genuinely excellent.Seated on red leather banquettes
at the side of the room, my knee was jammed against a table leg,
but that's because I'm too tall - the low tables added to an intimate,
oriental style. My date was blown away by the cream and red velour
decor, and more so by the glamourous customers. I was instructed
not to look at any of them and turned my attention to the menu. |
