- 1900 The Hallam Hotel Is Ideally Situated In The Heart Of Central
London And Is Just A Few Minutes Walk From Oxford. This heavily
ornamented stone-and-brick Victorian -- one of the few on the
street to escape the Blitz -- is just a 5-minute stroll from Oxford
Circus. It's the property of brothers Grant and David Baker, who
maintain it well. The hotel is warm and friendly, and the central
location that you get for these prices can't be beat. The guest
rooms, which were redone in 1991, are comfortably furnished with
good beds. Some of the singles are so small they're called "cabinettes."
Several of the twin-bedded rooms are quite spacious and have adequate
closet space. Bathrooms, which have shower stalls, are a bit cramped. |
